Celebrating Baby's First Steps

Not much compares to the beaming look in a baby’s eyes when they realize they can stand on their own for the first time. I've always thought it's so cool that babies recognize these moments of success and independence.

Not long after that, you’ll be celebrating your baby’s first steps!

When the moment of first steps finally arrives…

Try this:

Avoid interrupting your baby’s concentration.

Allow your baby a brief moment to fully process what they just accomplished, and how they did it. It's all part of the trial-and-error learning process! Let them savor the successful attempt.

This can be really difficult to put into practice as an on-looker. We want to scream out in celebration the moment a baby takes their first step.  But if you can hold back for a moment, you'll provide your baby with valuable processing time.
