Gross Motor Skills To Expect
Pre-crawling skills.
Expected Age Range: 7-9 months, or so.
These are the skills that happen shortly before hands and knees crawling emerges.
Your baby will begin “army crawling” or moving themselves forward on their tummy using their arms and legs, equally using both sides of their body. Babies often push themselves backward before going forward.
Your baby will army crawl over obstacles like pillows or your leg.
They will begin to push up and back through their arms to get into a hands and knees position. This is also called quadruped position.
They will be able to transition from sitting to quadruped, over their left and right sides.
They will start rocking back and forth in quadruped.
Your baby will weight shift to the side and unweight one hand at a time in quadruped.
